John P. Ekberg III Greenwich, Connecticut
Mr. Ekberg received his B.A. with departmental honors from the College of Wooster and his master of public administration with distinction from Pace University in 1982. In 1990, Mr. Ekberg received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Pace University School of Law where he was elected to the Honor Code Board and was an editor on the Pace Law Review. At law school, Mr. Ekberg was selected to represent Pace in the National Moot Court and the Jessup International Moot Court competitions. Mr. Ekberg has published articles in the Journal of Products Liability and the Pace Law Review. Prior to becoming a member of the Bar, he worked for the Department of Social Services in Westchester County, New York, as Program Coordinator for the Office of Child Support Enforcement. Immediately prior to joining Schoonmaker, George & Colin, Mr. Ekberg was a partner at the law firm of Cummings & Lockwood. Mr. Ekberg joined the Stamford office of Cummings & Lockwood in 1995 as a member of the Litigation Department's Matrimonial practice and headed the Stamford office's Matrimonial practice from 1996 to 1999. Previously from 1990 to 1995, Mr. Ekberg had been an associate at the law firm of Chadbourne & Parke in New York City, where he was a member of the Litigation Department. Mr. Ekberg serves as a Special Master for the Family Division of the Superior Court. He has also conducted a number of legal seminars for the regional and state bar on divorce taxation. In 1999, Mr. Ekberg received his certificate from the Quinnipiac School of Law Interdisciplinary Institute, which was established by Judge Joseph Steinberg. Mr. Ekberg is admitted to practice in the states of Connecticut and New York. He is a member of the Regional Bar Association of Stamford, Norwalk and Wilton. Mr. Ekberg also serves as a member of the Board of Visitors for the Pace University School of Law. | ||||||||
